Information at your fingertips

Para ler este post em português clique AQUI

I was at home watching Copa Libertadores' semifinal (equivalent to the Champions League in Europe), when I decided that I wanted to know the outcome of the last game between São Paulo and Internacional. I picked up my iPod (in which I wrote this post) and got the information I was seeking within seconds.

Conclusion: information should not only exist, it should also be available and accessible to each and every person who needs that data or information.

This is a common mistake on data processing solutions in general: we, who have technical training, tend to create solutions that excel technical and conceptual issues. However we also tend to forget a topic quite common nowadays: usability.

Making data, information or indicators available for access to the rightful people is not enough. The accessibility has to be easy, efficient and, why not, sexy.

The information has SURELY to be available at your fingertips, but the information has to be correct, reliable and secure.
